PRINCIPALS-IN-ACTION™ NETWORK
Strengthening leadership capacity through collaborative learning
If we want all students to meet high standards of learning and achievement, then all educators must be encouraged to meet the standards for their profession. Meeting high professional standards is a developmental process that flourishes best within a professional learning community, or "network" of learning leaders.
The purpose of Performance Fact's Principals-in-Action Network™ program is to strengthen leadership capacity for continuous improvement of educational practices and student achievement; facilitate the continuous growth of educators towards meeting the standard for their profession; and nurture a culture of continuous learning and renewal. Its ultimate aim is to facilitate professional growth for every leader so that he or she becomes the kind of leader who can lead any school or school system.
Key features and benefits of Principals-in-Action Network include:
- A comprehensive curriculum organized around Performance Fact's three leadership disciplines - Personal Mastery, Team Learning and Leadership for Results - which are aligned to the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) Standards for School Leaders.
- Standards-based, proficiency-oriented collaborative learning and inquiry in small learning clusters, or "cohorts".
- In-depth focus on a "vital few" high-leverage leadership practices of importance to the learning leaders.
- A peer-to-peer coaching component to promote sharing, collegial learning and mutual support among practitioners.
- Continuous evidence-based assessment of the impact of leadership practices on teaching practices, organizational practices and student learning.
Principals-in-Action Network™, in combination with Breakthru: Coaching for High Performance™ and Learning Leaders Institutes™, offer educational leaders a framework for achieving mastery of their craft during the course of their professional career.
