8 Bedrocks of a Continuous District and School Improvement System
(October 2006)

Success does not happen by chance. Rather, success comes from the alignment of purpose and action; it is the reward of paying disciplined attention to our intention. Successful districts and schools ought to continually improve their practices and processes in order to remain successful. Likewise, underperforming or "struggling" districts and schools must embrace the idea of continuous improvement in order to live up to their potential. The 8 Bedrocks is a guide for educational leaders and practitioners that outlines the essential elements of a coherent design for continuous district and school improvement.
